10 Meetups On Robot Vacuum Deals You Should Attend
Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you’ve ever wanted to get a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET’s best-rated models will be on sale during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with discounts up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its running time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot’s most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its most significant advancement is an obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). It’s also the first robot to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across to let you know to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we’ve ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It’s easy to control using the iRobot Home app, which lets you schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn’t clean areas you do not want it to. It’s also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it using your voice.
The design is also more appealing than the competition. It has an elegant, top piece that resembles a toy rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base’s Automatic Dirt Disposal System also self-empties, which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It even managed to take small gravel and sand, which most other robots aren’t able to do. It did all this without getting tangled in our pet’s hair.
Although it’s not as sophisticated as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, which isn’t able to clean stairs, the J7+ is a solid option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum in their home. It’s not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we’ve found it be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to determine if they are working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you’re looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock makes some of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. It’s their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it lacks some of the features you’ll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it’s still an excellent option if you’re willing sacrifice a bit to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like wall legs and table legs, which makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It’s also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The Q5+’s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled via only a few buttons on your device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go zones, alter your home map, or change the room’s label.
If you opt for the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock that’s designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it’s in place, emptying the bin is done easily. It also has a large LCD display which is great to have when you’re creating schedules or changing settings. This isn’t a necessary feature for most people, but it’s one that will assist you in keeping track of your robot’s maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that’s incredibly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the most innovative in the market, but it’s expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.
And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, Robotvacuummops too. It’s the only robovac I’ve tested that does a good job picking up debris from bare floors. And it’s not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the home. It’s not able to climb stairs as well as competitors, either and doesn’t come with a dock that lets you to create a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
Although it doesn’t provide as much in the way of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum that’s worth the premium price price.
If you’re looking to save some cash, or just don’t care about the limitations of this machine there are many other options available which include a variety of eufy models for significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides a similar in-app experience with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making robot vacuums that offer the perfect combination of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at a price that is affordable. It’s simple to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, switch it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock should be located near an outlet with plenty of space to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise, which means it will fit under many couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design isn’t as ostentatious in comparison to other models. It is sleek with a black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The way the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It makes use of an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable items that are in its path. It remembers the items it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 isn’t without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, has the same battery life and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn’t require to be emptied as often and comes with the boundaries to keep it away from certain areas. The G30, however, is more affordable and is much easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn’t require as frequent emptying and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials such as cereal.
